Activities
Explore typical Apulian cuisine with our Chef!
Villa San Martino wants to be a home open to those who want to be fascinated by Apulian traditions, and immerse themselves into our identity, even for a day, through the colours, flavours and scents of our land.
Our chef will teach you how to prepare real Apulian orecchiette, focaccia barese or the tasty panzerotti. Armed with apron and chef's hat, you will get your hands in the dough in a unique, rural setting – our typical trullo.
At the end you will be able to taste what you have made and a Certificate of Participation will be issued.
Discover the secrets of cheese making!
Guests will be able to discover all the secrets of cheese products, visiting the dairy laboratory, the breeding farm, and the maturing cellar.
This is followed by the 'Mozzarella Show', where the cheesemaker will show you the processes of production and guests will take part in this.
Puglia is also land of wonderful wines. Primitivo and Negroamaro are the best known, but there are many different grape varieties cultivated here and our mission will be to help you discover all the goodies the region has to offer.
The experience begins with the oenologist who will take you on a tour of the winery, where the various stages of winemaking will be explained, starting with the harvesting of the grapes from the vines and ending with the storage of the wine in the barrels. We continue the journey of flavours in the tasting room where we will taste the wines accompanied by the delicacies of our land at km0. Depending on the season, the tasting can take place on the farmyard among the hay bales, in the gazebo in the shade of the beech tree, or inside the cellar.
